Will works be paid?
Pricing and access plans
We will only consider introducing paid plans after WitchWrites has built up a substantial collection of works. Until then, everything on the site will remain free to read.
How does experience work?
Earn XP, level up, and help shape future translations
Experience points (XP) reward active reading and meaningful participation on WitchWrites.
Reading
Read a published chapter actively for at least 45 seconds to earn 10 XP. Each chapter can earn reading XP once per reader.
Comments and replies
A visible comment or reply earns 5 XP, with experience awarded for up to five comments per UTC day.
As you level up, you will have a greater say in the community's future. Higher-level users will be invited to help decide which work we translate next.
How will revenue be used?
Improving quality and supporting rights holders
Revenue will mainly support two goals.
Translation editing
We want to hire translators and editors to revise and polish machine-translated chapters, improving readability and consistency over time.
Licensing and author support
We also want to contact rights holders and pursue formal licensing agreements, so that revenue from works can reach the original authors.
